I play mostly M&B Bannerlord, and was shocked when my 1000 unit battles went from a stuttering 30fps to a much more playable 45fps. I also raised my power limit +15% and put in a custom fan curve, but for most basic approach this isn’t needed. Personal anecdote: I did exactly this on my XFX RX 580, I boosted the core clock from 1366 to 1400MHz. ![]() This small boost is safe and shouldn’t increase temperatures enough to harm the graphics card, and most cards should be stable with +25-50MHz Stress test or just play a demanding game and make sure temperatures did not get too high afterward (85-90+☌)ĭone.Some people suggest just maxing this all the way) (This increases the power that the card CAN draw if needed and helps maintain higher core clocks. But it is actually super easy and safe to put on a light overclock and found a surprisingly big difference in-game. ![]() I recently built my first PC and was hesitant to overclock because I didn’t want to break anything and didn’t think it would make much difference. My goal for this post is to convince a beginner PC builder (like myself) to try overclocking their graphics card and give the most basic steps to do so.
